I came to Martijn at a difficult stage of my life, having lost my job and having many chronic health issues. Still active but not as fit as I would like, having had to give up running, I needed to find a way to get more regular exercise. Back and knee pain made it impossible for me to do this all by myself so I decided to look for a personal trainer.
The first person I made an appointment with was Martijn and I felt an immediate click. Martijn understood my issues and supported my goal. I started working with Martijn with a short term goal in mind. After the 6 months were up and the goal was met, it was an easy decision to continue working with him. We are now working together less intensively towards a new longer term goal.
Martijn is very knowledgeable and can easily adapt to your personal goals and any limitations you may have. He is very easy to work with and is intuitive about when to increase the intensity of your exercise and when to ease off. He watches constantly and corrects your position and explains which muscles you should be using. When my health issues make one exercise difficult he will find an alternative.
Important for me is the fact that he can work through English, both professionally and socially. On top of all that, he is fun to be with, we talk about everything and anything and have a laugh. I go to my appointments with him with pleasure and leave feeling satisfied. I would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for a personal trainer, especially when having to deal with injuries or postural imbalances.
